Born in Oregon in 1978 and spent many weekends camping and climbing at Smith Rock during high school.  Photographed Amiri Baraka speaking in the school auditorium.  Many rolls of film later shooting with a Leica M6 and a Nikon digital camera.

Completed degrees (B.A. Geography, Master of Science in Information Management) at the University of Washington in Seattle.  Emphases on qualitative techniques and problem solving.  Areas of interest include the environment and natural resources.

Since 1999, involved in a long-term reportage project studying the course of the environmental movement.  Excerpts of the series in different forms, including journal publications (Antipode (U.K.), Covert Action Quarterly (U.S.), TradeAid (N.Z.)), exhibits (University of Oregon, Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts, Eugene, Oregon), and assorted presentations, are ongoing.  Topics covered include trade, deforestation, and agriculture.

Since 2004, working in production, licensing, and digital asset management; as a Content Coordinator for MSN.com and Bing Search in Redmond, Washington; and as Assistant Operations Manager at Aurora Photos in Portland, Maine.  Areas of knowledge and familiarity include content strategy, search optimization, information architecture, needs assessments, and requirements.
